Don Antonio Lugo High School Shooting: Don Lugo High School, Chino, California, has been threatened, according to the Chino Police Department. According to an online report, the school has been placed on a compulsory lockdown due to shooting on November 8, 2024. According to Chino Police department, there have not been able to say for certain that the threat is real. Don Lugo and Chino High have gone into lockdown out of caution. Don Lugo High will have a large police presence. Until the problem is completely resolved, shelter orders are now in effect for other District schools.

Due to activity south of the school, the Chino Police Department instructed Don Lugo High School to go into lockdown at 1:55 PM. The lockdown was lifted at 2:07 PM. Almost immediately following the lockout, Principal Dr. Cabrera called, texted, and emailed parents to alert them.
A potential shooting at T.J. MaxxTM, located at 4040 Grand Ave. in the Chino Spectrum Marketplace, was reported to Chino Police Department. “There was no weapon or shooting,” confirmed Chino Police Department Sgt. Nancy Franklin. An off-duty officer who is not connected to the Chino Police Department chased a male suspect who had stolen a woman’s pocketbook inside T.J. MaxxTM into the 86 café, where he was apprehended shortly after, according to the Chino Police Department.
Later, 0.4 miles from the T.J. MaxxTM shop, in a local restaurant across the street, police spoke with the suspect. After detaining the suspect, officers nabbed Carlos Rios, 27, around 2:00 p.m.
